Fabulous food, nice casual atmosphere.
This is a great place when you want great food
but don´t want to deal with a fussy, uptight, dressy,
state-street restaurant. The dinners are fabulous,
great menu which good specials. And the lunches
are great too. The meatloaf sandwhich is amazing.
Great casual atmosphere.
Carp´s Best Kept Secret
I seldom order from the menu, for we know the
chef and he takes care of us. But not once, have
I tried something that I did not like. Everything
from the artwork to their great wine selection makes
this the perfect place in Carpinteria.
Absolutely The Best Food In Carp.
Every single thing I have tried here was absolutely
exquisite. The service can be really bad though.
It´s a very crowded place at lunch and clearly understaffed
most of the time. You have to have a long lunch
hour to burn. Dinner is excellent. Perfectly priced
and really nice atmosphere with candle light etc.
(totally different than at lunch). You can´t beat
this food. Salads are awesome. Quiche to die for.
Soups incredible. But the specials are the best.
Wish they were all on the regular menu. Try the
tortellini. Oh my God…mmm.
Very Impressed, Wish I Lived Closer
We decided to travel from Ojai, and we had to competing
choices: Zookers and the Nugget. We drove by Zookers
to get a feel for the ambience. On Saturday night,
the place was crowded, but we decided to give it
a try. Well, I had the Baked Chicken in Chipotle
Sauce, my wife had the Braised Pork Loin in Savory
Juices (special) and my Daughter had the Chicken
Skewers (children’s menu). All of these entrees
were first rate. The Chicken and Pork Loin came
on a "bed" of garlic-mashed potatoes, with some
just green beans and carrots (only slightly cooked—so
they had good “snap”). Even my daughter´s chicken
skewers were delicious; they had a hint of Indian
curry flavor (or some exotic taste, I’m not completely
sure). The service was also very helpful even though
they were busy. They even had a selection of reasonably
priced wine. I love places like this, it´s great
food and service in a place that doesn´t have a
"stuffy" atmosphere. And one more thing: the prices
were refreshing. The meal I described cost only
$41.00 for the whole family (excluding tip). I want
to go back and get the Chicken again, and next time
I’m going to try the fish.
Great Food for All
This restaurant is perfect for every type of eater.
And all the selections are excellent and tasty.
If you are in the area, it is a definite must go.
The service and style is very casual, but the food
rates up there with some of the best in Santa Barbara
without the pomp and bother.
Best Little Hideout in Santa Barbara
The food is definitely 5 stars, but the atmosphere
may be 3 or 4 stars. This is the best kept secret
in the Santa Barbara area. Everything is fresh and
tasty!
CARPINTERIA´S BEST!!!!!
A must for lunch or dinner. Once you try it, you´ll
keep going back. I´m hooked!!! Cool for take-out
too.
